A Beginners Guide to Yoga: Fundamentals of FORM

Calling all yoga beginners, 2017 is YOUR year to get on the mat! Join us in the studio for an afternoon geared toward getting comfortable on your mat and in the yoga room.
This session will give you the tools you need to build your practice from the ground up – in a judgement free zone. With expert guidance and time for questions you are in great hands!
You will learn:
- What is yoga and why is it so popular?
- Why the breath is important and how to breathe in your yoga practice.
- When and how to use yoga props to support your practice.
- Basic yoga poses with proper alignment and modifications.
- The many benefits of yoga including how to use your practice as a tool to alleviate stress.
*Yoga mat, water and a notebook if you wish to take notes. This session will involve lecture and practice.
*A yoga mat will be provided at no charge if you need to borrow one

Whether you are a newer student to yoga or a casual practitioner of many years, you’ll get the needed tools and techniques to get serious (in the most fun way) while taking your practice to the next level. Expect to dive deeper into the nuances of practice including proper sun salutation and vinyasa alignment, guided breath work, a peek into yoga philosophy, and more.
This workshop is great for those students who have attended at least 5-10 yoga classes prior. Bring your mat, a towel and some water. You may wish to bring a journal and pen for notes.
